If your having to rotate it down more then when the reservoir hits the handlebar mount, then your sitting way to far forward on the bars, or riding with your arms extended almost straight down. Try sitting back so your forearms are more parallel with the ground as well as loosening up at your elbows. That will flatten out your wrist more and put the brake lever more in line with the palm of your hand, which is where you want it.

Keep in mind also, that by rotating the reservoir that far, your creating an open void close to the fluid intake in the master cylinder and are more likely to draw in air.
