Ignition Switch protection

There was a thread earlier about water migration into the ignition switch causing problems--especially bikes stored/parked outdoors. I found a thin walled polyetheline plug/cap that may solve that problem. All you need is a thin walled plug 3cm inside diameter to cover the switch. This fits around the lock portion. You would need a larger cap to cover the whole housing. You may already have such a cap at home--medicine containers, vitamin containers--anything with a cap. When you ride, you put the cap in your pocket or Tank Bag. Should be good protection in the rain. I stick a cane tip with a tag attached into the end of the muffler to keep rain out--especially when I am travelling and need to leave the bike outdoors.

Sounds like a good idea.

Would be cool to find a way to mount it to a hinge.

Great ideas Alex. I never thought about rain getting into the muffler.
