I just ordered one anyway, so we'll see. Is there any way of locking the bag?

I don't know about fastpack but I got a slowpack. Courtesy of my girlfriends mom. It needs food, love, and attention. Works pretty good if you ask me.

Just came in the mail! So...the only thing securing this down is 4 pieces of Velcro? That's strong enough to carry a full pack in highway speeds...?

I assume they picked the velcro thats strong enough to hang on until the rider gets thrown off.

Well, it's also using your seat cowl's locking mechanism, as another restraint to keep it down. It works quite well, imo.

I've filled mine with heavy things and been on the highway. It sometimes flops to the side a little bit, but it doesn't look or feel like it's going anywhere.

Mine failed on the 3rd day using it. There's a huge hole and customer service is terrible. Do yourself a favour and buy from a company who stand behind their products because Cycle Guys definitely does not!

How did it fail? I've had mine for nearly 5 years and no issues with it whatsoever (and I've had it on at the track at well over 150 mph on my CBR). That pic looks like mine. I had a friend change the tires on my bike a long time ago, and he didn't properly lock the seat down (the bag stayed on the cowl just fine) and it got a hole nearly identical to yours. Did your whole passenger seat/cowl come off along with the bag?

Seat was secured properly and bag installed as directed. Cycle Guys have admitted to having manufacturing problems in China but will not stand behind this product. Oxford offers lifetime warranty but Cycle Guys can't even cover a bag that was used for 3 days. They don't answer their phone and you can't leave a message. Terrible company and customer service. My advice is buy the OEM Kawasaki tail bag or from another reputable company who stand behind their products. Cycle Guys do not warranty their pack at all so that says a lot!

Earlier today during our email exchange I asked Chad to be fair and include all the facts if he decided to "share his experience" with my company. Just as I feared, he left out some crucial details, but he also made up some things too.
He neglected to write that he first asked for a refund, then later switched to wanting a replacement, after I asked him where and when he bought his FastPack. He didn't buy it from us, and he was unable to say where it was purchased or when. I advised Chad that all warranty claims need to go through the dealer that handled the sale. Pretty standard stuff, right? Later on he gave me a vague story about it being a gift that was purchased at a "motorcycle rally" in Florida. No receipt, no dealer name, nothing. For all I know the tail bag was purchased 5 years ago, or came with a used bike, or bought from a friend, etc. I have, on occasion, sent out replacement products to customers who purchased it elsewhere, but those customer always sent proof of purchase from an authorized dealer. Chad saying that we "admitted to having manufacturing problems in China" is a complete fabrication. Maybe Chad can post our entire email exchange, without editing it, and show me where I said that? Chad, I'm sorry I didn't answer the phone. Why didn't you leave a message? The Cycle Guys is a 2 person company. We're often out back packaging and shipping. We don't always answer the phone. But I guarantee you that if you had left a message, I would have called you back within an hour. Another detail that Chad left out was that despite no receipt, no dealer name, no information on the sale, I offered that he could send us the tail bag for review. If, as he stated, it was truly under a year old and only used 3 times, then the bag should be in pretty darn good condition other than the rip, and I would send him a new one. He refused to do so. He just wants a new product sent for free based on a story and a picture and nothing else. I'm sorry but life doesn't work that way. 99.9% of our customers love their FastPacks and our other products. While we're not perfect all the time, we do our best to keep our customers happy. We do not, however, offer a lifetime warranty. Chad, I'm truly sorry I was not able to make you happy, but I tried. And my offer still stands. Thanks for reading this everyone! Not at all. I have to pay for return shipping on an obviously defective product which may, or may not get replaced. Very poor workmanship and quality on my bag which is obvious from the pictures I posted. Don't expect this pack to last at all. Go for the Kawasaki tail bag or even Oxford or Givi instead. Those companies actually stand behind their products.

Mine lasted ~2.5 years before the outer zip went. Other than the outer zip, the bag (including the inner zip) is fine. I'm pleased with the durability of it considering it's not that expensive and I've used it to store stuff on pretty much every ride I've been on, and I've frequently jammed it full of stuff to the point that it has been bulging.

I've had a Givi bag since 2000 (15 years!) and its much better quality.
I am not prepared to pay shipping and then be told that I can't get a replacement. I am in Canada so shipping is much more, plus our dollar is only worth 79 cents in the US. Live and learn. I will stick with the better brands. A quick search shows that there are lots of people with broken Cycle Guys packs. The materials on mine are very cheap and there's poor workmanship on the attachment points for the Velcro.

I ended up buying the Kawasaki factory tail bag. What a difference in quality!! Don't waste your money on Cycle Guys.
