2010 Ninja 250R
I am new to this site and pleased to find an awesome forum for this bike... But I have a very odd issues. Now to show my level of knowledge with bikes I know tools and google, and some what about cars basics and bike basic. So I’m sorry I come off a little ehh (INSERT FACE PALM). anyways my issue is that every-time i put the bike in gear throttle it and then use just the rear brake the bikes tends to die out. The wheel stop's like it should, but the engine just stalls out. The bike is jacked up wheels off the ground so I can’t see if it’s a normal thing just because it's jacked up? I’m not sure and I can’t run the engine and set the bike off the ground to see. Cause of other issues atm. I just want to know if I should be worried or not.

Welcome Jordan!
It doesn't matter if the bike is off the ground or not. If the bike is in gear and the rear wheel stops, it will stall the engine. Even if your give it plenty of throttle, the brake can overpower the lil engine and stop the wheel, effectively stalling the engine. New riders do this often enough without even using the brake, instead... they let the clutch out too much/fast.

The fastest stop you can make on a Ninja 250 will get the rear wheel off the ground slightly. That tells you how much the rear brake is needed in a hard stop. Now if you're on gravel or another slippery surface, the rear brake comes in very handy. |

You've never operated a manual-transmission car, have you?
Chris has it, I think. Try this: Duplicate the circumstance that causes the bike to die as you describe, but this time pull in the clutch before it does. Betcha it'll keep running.
