Google Tasks for Android
The wife and I haven't had a great system of maintaining to-do lists. There is a list on our fridge, we come up with ad hoc lists, and then there are grocery lists, home improvement lists, whatever. Now that we both have android phones, I figured it was finally time to find a way to use the technology a bit to fix this problem. I've found a good solution that has already saved us some time, so I figured I'd share. First, start using the Tasks within gmail. More info here: http://gmail.com/tasks
It's a basic web app, that you can create multiple lists as needed. Has features to allow you to indent sub-tasks. You can check off tasks, and/or delete tasks, and the deleted ones then stick around awhile in trash if you do need to refer to them. Then - you set up a free Android app called Gtasks: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=gtasks It links to your gmail task list, and lets you interact with it directly. If you enable the "quick add" feature, it allows you to speak tasks, and it enters them onto a list immediately. I set this up under a joint google account that we use, so both of our phones are pointing to the same task account. So far, so good; it just works.

When I switched to Android, I was disappointed that there was no standard notepad for me to even make a manual to-do list. Of course, there are plenty of other options. Thanks, Alex!
