There seems to be alot of content here I will have to start sifting through it see if I can help out. I ordered the parts that I need to replace in my engine and got some tools and supplies to Polish the head and lap the valves. Tomorrow is going to be a long day

I changed my oil.
I also discovered a lot of spiderwebs and am wondering how to get rid of these potential creeps. Canned air? Pesticide on the bike? I'd hate to have something similar to a gfloyd2002 moment. |

Best way to keep spiders out of your bike is to place a few small bags filled with moth balls around the bike when parked. This works best if the bike is covered. The bags have to be cloth and water will dissolve them quickly but nothing works better, especially good for "winterizing" your bike, and also keeps away little critters like mice and chipmunks!

Made it go ker-splash a bunch of times!
Two of the state parks we rode through today had water crossings. I did about 7 altogether.

not much today, found out the bike had been vandalized, and they put their nuts all over my bike and in particular inside my tool box.
But i finally got some parts i have been waiting on, new sprockets and chains. Fancy Ti rear sprocket (don't ask... it sounded cool) Will be a little lighter over steel (not much at all) and should not wear very much at all. Ehhh time will tell.

My brother is visiting from out of state so we have been trying to get a hit of work done on the bikes. We tried to assemble two sets of forks yesterday but could only find one set of seals (my new set is gone!). We did finish one set using old seals which did not leak.
He's going to be here for four more days so I thought I'd just order using my under-used Amazon Prime account so we could finish up the other set but Amazon is being a pain. Getting really upset with Amazon Prime. Not only are the same items with Prime always cheaper from other sellers who ship through Amazon, but they don't even keep stock and so you don't get 2-day shipping. They need to stop spending my Prime membership fees on Prime Instant licensing and put it toward product shipping as it was originally intended. First, they only had one result for "Ninja 250 fork seals" after filtering to only those with Prime shipping. It just so happened to be for the 37mm bikes (250J, Ninja 300, Ninja 500) so I went ahead and ordered. The shipping estimate said October 27th, which is NOT Prime 2-day shipping, so I called and they said it was shipping Monday because they needed special packaging. When I told them that is is actually the Monday after next, they said it was because it was backordered. When I asked why the product link in my order is now for seals that are several dollars cheaper and have the wrong bike description, they said it was because it was a different seller. When I asked why ONLY that seller comes up now when I repeat my "Prime-only" search even though that result didn't have Prime, they had no answer. Well, I do: it wasn't "backordered" until I ordered it because it would still show if they were allowing back orders. They replenish only when someone backorders it and so it disappears when someone triggers the replen until they have it in stock. Their search algorithm takes a while to update and shows the same product from another seller. Anyway, I canceled and, sure enough, the Prime product showed back up in search results instantly. The two sellers had completely different lists of compatible models leading me to believe that the one I ordered was just as likely for the wrong bike anyway. I ordered some $10 seals. Even if I find my new OEM seals, it can't hurt to have some spares. |

CZroe, i had the same problem with amazon with prime on an order until i threatened to cancel my order and magically it showed up at my door a day later. You would expect it to be in stock when you place the order as it shows it being in stock only to show you it is out of stock after your order has been placed, and then you get the out of stock email. FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Needless to say i did not renew my membership with amazon's prime. It happened to be the D.I.D. X-chain and sprocket kit for $109.00 |

Rode thru the worst rain storm of my life! Water running down the street was about 10 inches deep. When I stopped at a red light I got a steam bath from the header pipe. Totally soaked all my gear and my boots were full of water but the Ninja ran perfect

A couple of weeks ago, I took off my bar end weights: they installed those things with loctite! Why??? Had to use an pneumatic impact wrench all the way out! Fortunately, the loctite is easy to remove from the bolts (new or used) with MEK and a toothbrush. Watch out, though... the MEK eats the toothbrush (so don't use a good one!). |

Put up my other 250 for sale on our local forum. Still partial to it and want to turn it into a track stunt monster. The bike.... Errrr frame still had a lien on it so I can't put it in my own name to keep it.

took it over 20,000 miles on the odometer yesterday. I wanted a picture. I looked at it with 7 miles to go, got in some fun twistes and next I looked it was at 20,010
To celebrate I changed the oil, staying with T6. Gave the chain a good brush and wax. Switched out the modulator with a led friendly one so my turn signals blink

Oiled the chain, rode it, rode it some more, changed out the oil and filter.
Also ended up scuffing the tires because every other car in NJ leaks oil on the road. |

found out that the parts I ordered where for the wrong generation 250 and that they are not compatible. So I finished lapping the valves and did some cleaning while I wait some more for the right parts
