2007 Ninja 250 Oil leak and constant stalling
Good afternoon everybody,
My wife and I are both new to riding, I ride a 2017 636 and just purchased a 2007 ninja 250 for my wife to learn on. A deer ran into the road and she panicked, laid the bike down on the left side going about 5 mph. As soon as I picked it up it was leaking and I could not start it. I got it home and let it sit for a day. I was able to get it running again with no issues. I took it on a ride to see if it would leak again. Sure enough a mile down the road it stalled and oil started dripping. The exhaust pipes also appear to overheat (too hot to touch in 20-30 seconds after turning it on) and I see smoke coming from the bike within 30 seconds after I turn it on. I have not seen the fan turn on yet. It seems like the bike overheats and stalls out. Again I am an amateur so obvious answers might not be so clear to me. Thanks for the help! |

Where is the oil dripping from?
I would take a look in the airbox for oil and clean the filter. There shouldn't be any lasting effects from a light tip-over, but there may be oil in places that needs to be cleaned or burned-off. |
