Unhappy Acceleration/Carburetor

I just bought a project 2010 kawasaki 250r. The carburetor had a small hole from where the adjustment know had broken off.
I replaced the carburetor with a new one, but im now having acceleration issues as where I don't before with the old carburetor. After shifting into 2nd gear and hitting 5-6 rpm the engine shuts off and then comes back on and sounds like it's struggling to get enough gas.
Is this issue even carburetor related or is there something wrong with the new carb?

please clarify your above statement on the "small hole" thus driving you to replace the carbset. Where is the hole you reference? Also clarify.....specifically what broke off?

To offer an answer on your acceleration issue.....please clarify....did you replace the original Keihin carbset with another Keihin.....or were they Far East copycat carbs you opted to buy? The specific source?

I did replace the keihin carbset with a cheap far east MOTOKU carbset which is probably the overall reason for failure. I reinstalled the old carburetor and I covered the hole with silicone. The bike ran fine after that, so the new carb is the issue. The hole on the old carb is next to the throttle cable bracketry where the end of the idle adjustment knob mounts to the carb. That is what/where broke off.

If interested, I've got a spare (naked) body
I could transfer all internal parts from yours, cleaning, confirming where necessary. I'd synch them as well.....just let me know.
