Help with rear axle setup, 1986
Hello all, I’m working on putting a 1986 ninja 250 back together, and I need some help with how the axle is laid out. I have a service manual and I also have been studying the parts diagrams, but I’m unsure if I have it correct. I got the bike with only the rear wheel and the axle, no spacers or chain adjusters. I have those now, ordered them based on the parts diagram and cross referencing part numbers. My question is, on the 86-87 models, does the brake caliper bracket ride on the axle? It looks as if it should. Without it, even with the axle spacers there is way too much space left. But with it, it seems to fit nicely, but I’m questionable on the alignment with it.
I just need to know if anyone knows or has an 86-87, how the axle is set up with the order of parts on each side of the wheel. Thank you! |
